Soap Spoiler Alert – Billy says a painful goodbye to Summer

There are heartbreaking scenes ahead in Coronation Street as it looks like Billy Mayhew is going to be forced to say goodbye to Summer, the girl he and Todd Grimshaw had their hearts set on adopting. In coming weeks, Billy’s whole world is set to fall apart – with horrific consequences.  The vicar is struggling with the secret that he was involved in the death of Adam Barlow’s mum Susan years ago and the storyline will take centre stage this Christmas, with the Barlows likely to discover the truth.

Meanwhile, Billy’s relationship with Todd will crumble, with Bruno Langley’s character making a swift exit, leaving Billy alone and facing the prospect of losing Summer too. Daniel Brocklebank has now been pictured filming deeply emotional scenes as Billy – and the character has been revealed to be in a wheelchair.

What happens to him is a closely guarded secret but the location scenes show Billy breaking down in tears alongside Eileen Phelan after hugging young Summer and saying goodbye to her. Have recent events stopped him from being able to adopt her?

Summer played by Matilda Freeman is pictured with Sue Cleaver who plays Eileen Phelan.

With his painful Susan secret, the loss of Todd, his terrible injury and now this, how much can Billy take? And is there any hope of him getting Summer back in his life? We already know that Summer’s bigoted grandma Geraldine will arrive back on the scene soon to cause more trouble so will she have a hand in destroying the adoption.

We admit that these pictures create more questions than they answer but that’s all part of the excitement! Does Billy confess to what happened to Susan? How does he end up in a wheelchair? What is Todd’s exit storyline? Is Summer going for good?

There’s one thing we do know though – 2018 is shaping up to be even more miserable for Billy than the latter half of 2017 has been.
